About the project
What is META?
The Montana Educational Technologists Association ("META") is a professional organization for K-12 technologists.
Adopted as a SAM affiliate in 2012, META endeavors to meet the vision that Montana provides the best 21st Century preK-12 education possible and to fulfill META's mission:
Unite educational technologists into one professional association for the purpose of advocating for and supporting the visions, policies, practices, and funding for technology within all aspects of teaching, learning, and professional productivity.
What is the META SBAC Technology Readiness Project?
The META SBAC Technology Readiness project is designed to ensure that all schools across Montana are technically prepared to take the SBAC (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium) field test during the spring of 2014.
What is the scope of the project?
Who is running the project?
META received an award for the project from OPI through a competitive process. The contract is to provide technology assistance to Montana School Districts for the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) Field Test during the spring of 2014. Dennis Parman, Deputy Superintendent is the OPI Representative, Christine Day is the State Coordinator for META for this project. There is a META SBAC committee that is comprised of Patrick Weichel of Lewistown School District, Russ Hendrickson of Corvallis SD, Jeff Patterson of Great Falls SD, Steve Yockim of Sidney SD, Charlene Wasson of Whitewater SD, Brian Norwood of Lolo SD, David Dobbins of Cascade SD, Mindy Obert of Sweet Grass SD, and Richard Lawrence of Kalispell SD.
Why is META involved?
META is involved with Montana school districts regardless of this project - we are the school technology directors and coordinators around the state. META has been an integral part of SBAC readiness and implementation.
I have a question about something SBAC related
